Mauritania Airlines has successfully resumed operations of its Boeing 737-8 aircraft after approximately a year in storage at Lourdes/Tarbes. The national carrier welcomed back its lone 737-8, following pre-induction maintenance at Addis Ababa International. The aircraft arrived at Nouakchott on December 13 and officially returned to revenue service on December 17, operating a return flight to Gran Canaria under flight numbers L6 124/L6 111.

This marked the final aircraft in Mauritania Airlines’ six-strong fleet of wholly-owned mainline aircraft to re-enter service. The carrier’s fleet also includes an Embraer E145, a Boeing 737-800, a 737-700, and two E175s (with one having been out of service since July). Mauritania Airlines serves a range of destinations, including domestic routes to Zouerate and Nouadhibou, as well as international routes to the Canary Islands, Morocco, Senegal, Mali, DR Congo, RO Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Gabon, Benin, and Tunisia.

The return of the 737-8 to service reflects Mauritania Airlines’ confidence in the aircraft’s safety and reliability. The airline now operates a modern and versatile fleet, providing essential air connectivity to both domestic and international destinations. Aviation enthusiasts and passengers alike are keenly observing the carrier’s operational developments as it continues to navigate the dynamic aviation landscape in the region.
