Metrojet (Cayman Islands), an affiliate of Metrojet (Hong Kong) based at Hong Kong International Airport, has secured an air operator’s certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands. CEO Dave Yip confirmed the certification was achieved with the induction of a Gulfstream G650, marking a strategic expansion as the company responds to rising demand for VP-C aircraft registrations in the region.

This is currently Metrojet’s only AOC, though the company has several Cayman-registered aircraft in its managed fleet. The specific G650 placed under the new certificate has not yet been disclosed. Metrojet is known to manage multiple Gulfstream G650 and G650ER aircraft registered in the Cayman Islands, including one G650 added in September and another G650ER added in March. A second ultra-long-range Gulfstream is expected to join the Cayman AOC within the next year.

Yip said the initial priority will be ensuring smooth integration and operational readiness for the first two aircraft under the new oversight structure. He added that further expansion will be guided by client requirements and ongoing regulatory developments in the Asia-Pacific region.

Founded in 1997, Metrojet is part of the Kadoorie family’s business portfolio. The company provides aircraft management and charter services and also operates maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities at Hong Kong International Airport and at Clark International Airport in the Philippines.
