Mexico’s Performance Air Plans Bizjet Fleet and Base Expansion

Mexico-based Performance Air is targeting fleet expansion and new operational bases as it works toward becoming the country’s top business aviation operator within the next decade. CEO Gerardo Aboumrad Chedraui revealed the company aims to grow its bizjet fleet to 22 aircraft and add a second helicopter by the end of 2025.

The Toluca-based operator recently added a Bombardier Global Express XRS to its fleet, which now totals 18 aircraft and one helicopter. Plans include phasing out older jets like the Citation Jet 4 in favor of newer models such as the Citation Sovereign+. The company is also considering replacing a Challenger 604 with a more modern aircraft, focusing on jets manufactured after 2010 to reduce maintenance costs.

Performance Air manages privately owned aircraft under its Part 135 certificate and is promoting a new fractional ownership model that allows multiple stakeholders to share aircraft access with predictable monthly costs.

While Toluca remains the main hub, the company is looking to expand to Guadalajara by the end of 2025 and is eyeing other cities like Monterrey, León, Torreón, Veracruz, and Mérida due to strong business aviation demand.

Performance Air also operates a dedicated sales department to assist clients in buying or selling aircraft and collaborates with Universal Aviation and Avemex as its FBO partners in Toluca. The company’s own hangar serves its clients exclusively.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Performance Air sees a major opportunity to scale its operations and meet growing demand across Mexico’s private aviation market.
