MGM’s $10B Japan casino-resort proposal moves forward

The city and prefecture of Osaka gave official approval this week to a joint venture through which MGM Resorts International plans to build a $10 billion integrated resort on an artificial island in Japan. MGM and Japanese financial services company ORIX’s bid was the only one remaining after several US and Asian gaming companies dropped out last year.
