Michael Bayley Named Travel Executive of the Year at 2025 Travvys
Royal Caribbean President and CEO Michael Bayley was honored as Travel Executive of the Year at the 11th annual Travvy Awards, held November 6 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center.
Bayley opened his acceptance speech with a quote from Confucius: “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” noting that it perfectly reflects his 44-year career with Royal Caribbean.
“I actually genuinely never felt like I’ve had a job,” Bayley told the audience. “If you do what you love, it all works. I’ve only ever done what I loved.”
One of the most celebrated moments of the evening, Bayley’s award drew a standing ovation from industry colleagues representing cruise lines, destinations, hotels, tour operators and travel suppliers.
He reflected on his first day with the company, when he stepped aboard the Nordic Prince and immediately fell in love with the Caribbean, the cruise experience and the guests he served.
Bayley also emphasized the importance of the Royal Caribbean team in his success, describing the company as a family. “Success is never a ‘me’ thing—it’s a ‘we’ thing,” he said, thanking his colleagues for decades of support. “My entire 44-year career has been an incredible joy, shaped by a wonderful culture focused on creating great experiences for our guests.”
