According to the 2024 J.D. Power North America Airport Satisfaction Study, Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP) has been named the top airport, scoring 671 points on a 1,000-point scale. The study, which surveyed over 26,000 travelers across the U.S. and Canada, highlights MSP’s passenger-friendly amenities and recent renovations as key factors in its ranking.

The study evaluated airports based on several factors, including ease of travel, terminal facilities, staff, and food and beverage options. Despite record-breaking air travel numbers and rising prices, 60% of North American travelers reported enjoying their airport experience, with MSP standing out for its recent modernization efforts. A $242 million upgrade at MSP, including a new Delta Sky Club and enhanced terminal design, has contributed to its high passenger satisfaction.

MSP’s top-ranking comes as the U.S. experienced its busiest air travel day ever on July 7, 2024, with over 3 million passengers passing through TSA checkpoints. Travelers cited ease of navigation, friendly staff, and a strong sense of place as reasons for their satisfaction.

Minneapolis–St. Paul’s success reflects a broader trend of increasing air travel demand across North America, despite rising costs for flights and airport services. While crowding and high prices remain challenges, MSP continues to lead the way in providing a seamless travel experience.
