MNG Airlines Signs MoU for Two Airbus A350F Freighters

MNG Airlines, a leading Turkish logistics provider and e-commerce enabler, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of two A350F freighters, marking a major step forward in its fleet modernization plans. The announcement was made on June 18, 2025, at the Paris Air Show 2025.
The A350F, Airbus’s next-generation cargo aircraft, is currently under development and promises unmatched efficiency, capacity, and environmental performance. Designed to carry up to 111 tons over a range of 8,700 kilometers, the freighter will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines. Airbus highlights that the A350F will deliver up to 40% lower fuel burn and CO2 emissions compared to older-generation aircraft.
The aircraft’s advanced design incorporates over 70% composite and advanced materials, making it 46 tons lighter than competing models. In addition, it will feature the largest main deck cargo door in the industry, enabling greater loading flexibility and faster turnaround times.
Airbus says the A350F is the only freighter designed to fully meet ICAO’s 2027 CO2 emissions standards from day one. Upon entry into service, it will be 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) capable, with a target of reaching 100% SAF capability by 2030.
“We are delighted to welcome MNG Airlines as the latest customer for the A350F, underscoring the strong market appeal for this game-changing freighter,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President Sales at Airbus Commercial Aircraft. “The A350F will bring new generation efficiency and performance as well as new levels of capacity and unprecedented loading flexibility. We look forward to ensuring a seamless integration into MNG’s operations.”
Based in Turkey, MNG Airlines (MNGA) operates a wide range of scheduled and charter cargo services. The airline serves trade lanes spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and is increasingly expanding into North America. The addition of the A350F is expected to support MNG’s growing freight network, particularly as global demand for e-commerce and express logistics continues to rise.
“This agreement for two A350F deepens a partnership with Airbus across its full range of freighter programmes,” said Murathan Doruk Günal, CEO of Mapa Group and Chairman of MNG Airlines. “This move strengthens our position across key trade lanes and supports both our scheduled and charter operations. The A350F will give us added flexibility to meet evolving cargo demands, from e-commerce to high-value freight and express logistics.”
The order highlights the increasing importance of fuel efficiency and sustainability in the global air cargo sector, as operators prepare to meet stricter environmental standards while responding to booming logistics demand.
With this MoU, MNG Airlines becomes one of the latest carriers to commit to the A350F, further validating Airbus’s investment in a modern, eco-efficient freighter designed for the next generation of air cargo operations.
