More pet-friendly lodging, but traveling with pets isn’t easy

Demand for pet-friendly lodging is 40% higher this year compared with last year on vacation rental website VRBO, and Hilton Hotels & Resorts are increasingly accepting pets, but “pet-friendly” doesn’t mean “without restrictions,” and flying with pets is increasingly difficult. Rental car companies that allow pets may impose additional fees and cleaning requirements, and pets should be kept in a secure crate or restraint when traveling by car.
