MSC Cruises has unveiled plans to enhance its presence at Port Canaveral by introducing a new World Class ship and expanding its cruise offerings from the Florida hub starting in 2027. This strategic move underscores MSC Cruises’ commitment to providing a diverse range of cruise experiences in one of Florida’s premier departure ports.

The cruise line’s fourth World Class ship, yet to be named, is scheduled to join the Port Canaveral fleet for the Winter 2027-2028 season. This addition will offer year-round 7-night Caribbean itineraries, complementing MSC World America and making it the second World Class ship to operate in North America. The introduction of this new vessel is expected to attract a broader audience seeking luxurious and innovative cruising options in the Caribbean.

In addition to the upcoming World Class ship, MSC Grandiosa will commence year-round 7-night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral starting the Winter 2026-2027 season. This follows earlier announcements to deploy MSC Grandiosa for its inaugural season at Port Canaveral during Winter 2025-2026. Alongside these larger ships, MSC Seashore will continue to offer year-round 3- and 4-night cruises to The Bahamas and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, catering to travelers seeking shorter getaway options.

Lynn Torrent, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of MSC Cruises USA, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. “Our commitment to Port Canaveral is stronger than ever, thanks to the incredible support from our partners there and the growing demand from our guests who love the port’s convenient location,” Torrent stated. She added, “Having ships dedicated to offering both short and 7-night cruises year-round will ensure we have the right options available no matter when someone wants to sail. We’re especially excited to bring a World Class ship to Port Canaveral, continuing our long-standing pledge to deploy our most modern and innovative ships in the Caribbean market.”

Capt. John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral, echoed the excitement surrounding MSC Cruises’ expansion. “We are thrilled to welcome MSC Cruises as they expand their presence at Port Canaveral with the arrival of MSC Grandiosa and the deployment of their fourth World Class ship to our homeport,” Murray said. “The addition of these exceptional ships to our fleet will provide even more sailing options from Central Florida and reaffirm the cruise industry’s confidence in our ability to consistently deliver a world-class guest experience.”

MSC Cruises’ expansion at Port Canaveral is part of a broader strategy to increase its footprint in the Caribbean market. The company’s first World Class ship, MSC World Europa, launched in 2022, and MSC World America is set to begin sailing 7-night Eastern and West Caribbean cruises from Miami in April 2025. MSC World America boasts impressive features, including 19 dining venues, 18 bars and lounges, The Harbour outdoor family venue, the expansive World Promenade, the bustling 3-level World Galleria, and the largest MSC Yacht Club in the Caribbean, catering to luxury travelers seeking exclusive experiences.

The new World Class ship at Port Canaveral will offer seven distinct districts, each designed to provide unique spaces tailored to different types of travelers. This innovative approach ensures that every guest can customize their vacation experience, whether they seek relaxation, adventure, or gourmet dining.

MSC Cruises’ enhanced offerings at Port Canaveral reflect the company’s dedication to meeting the evolving demands of modern travelers. By providing a mix of short and extended cruises, along with the introduction of state-of-the-art ships, MSC Cruises aims to attract a diverse clientele and maintain its position as a leading player in the cruise industry.

As MSC Cruises continues to expand its fleet and homeport options, Port Canaveral is set to become an even more attractive departure point for Caribbean cruises. The addition of the new World Class ship and the expansion of existing services will provide travelers with unparalleled choices and experiences, solidifying Port Canaveral’s status as a key hub for cruising in the United States.

MSC Cruises’ plans to introduce a new World Class ship and expand its cruise offerings from Port Canaveral by 2027 highlight the company’s commitment to growth and excellence in the cruise industry. With enhanced itineraries, innovative ship features, and strategic homeport expansions, MSC Cruises is poised to deliver exceptional vacation experiences to travelers from around the world.
