MSC Cruises Announces Alaska Itineraries from Seattle
MSC Cruises is set to expand its offerings as the MSC Poesia will homeport in Seattle for Alaskan cruises starting in 2026. The itineraries will include stops at stunning destinations such as Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm, and Juneau in Alaska, as well as Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
“Guests from all over the world tell us they want to see Alaska’s beauty firsthand, which makes these itineraries the perfect addition to MSC Cruises’ global portfolio of bucket-list destinations,” said Lynn Torrent, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of MSC Cruises USA. She added that Seattle will be the company’s fifth U.S. homeport, bringing a signature blend of European style and American comforts to the West Coast while continuing to expand their presence in the North American market.
The MSC Poesia will spend the summer cruising through Alaska before relocating to Miami for the winter. This transition offers travelers the unique opportunity to experience the Panama Canal as the ship moves between the east and west coasts.
Stephanie Jones Stebbins, Managing Director of Maritime at the Port of Seattle, expressed enthusiasm for welcoming MSC Cruises and the MSC Poesia, noting, “We know that MSC guests will enjoy exploring our region before and after their Alaska adventure.” She also highlighted the cruise line’s commitment to sustainability, mentioning the ship’s capability to connect to shore power while in Seattle.
Designed to navigate the narrow channels of the Inside Passage, the mid-sized MSC Poesia offers guests an intimate cruising experience with the chance to see glaciers up close. A variety of shore excursions will be available to enhance the exploration of Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes.
Earlier this year, MSC introduced a new ship, World America, further expanding its fleet and capabilities in the competitive cruise market. With the addition of Alaska itineraries, MSC Cruises continues to solidify its commitment to providing exceptional travel experiences.
