MSC Cruises Introduces Flexible “Open Booking” Option for Indecisive Travelers

In a move tailored for travelers eager for a cruise adventure but hesitant to lock in specifics, MSC Cruises has launched an innovative “open booking” program. This unique option allows guests to commit to a cruise without immediately deciding on the vessel, itinerary, date, or time, catering to those who crave flexibility or may need more time to plan their perfect getaway.

With just a reduced deposit of $100/€100/£100 per person, participants in the open booking program secure a spot aboard an MSC cruise, receiving a certificate granting them up to 12 months to finalize their sailing details. To further sweeten the deal, guests who select their cruise specifics within 60 days of making their open booking are rewarded with up to $200/€200/£200 in onboard credit per cabin. Those who choose their details within a year still benefit from up to $100 in onboard credits, making the decision to cruise with MSC even more enticing.

This program is not only a boon for indecisive travelers but also serves as an innovative gift idea, allowing loved ones to gift the experience of a cruise with the luxury of choice still in the recipient’s hands.

An MSC Cruises representative highlighted the program’s aim to enhance flexibility for guests, stating, “We want to offer our guests more flexibility in choosing their next ship and sailing date. The Open Booking program gives guests onboard up to a year to make that decision while earning future credit for their next holiday at sea.”

Travel advisors, too, stand to benefit from this initiative, as they will receive a full commission once the guest finalizes their ship and itinerary choice. This program is part of MSC Cruises’ broader ‘Future Cruise’ initiative launched last year, designed to adapt to the evolving needs and preferences of modern travelers.
