MSC Cruises Orders Two More World Class Ships
MSC Cruises has confirmed orders for two additional World Class vessels, set to join its fleet in 2029 and 2030. The announcement marks the continued expansion of the cruise line’s environmentally advanced ship platform, following the success of MSC World Europa and MSC World America. Built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, each new ship will accommodate 6,774 guests across a range of staterooms and suites, reinforcing MSC’s commitment to large-scale luxury cruising.
Once delivered, the two ships will bolster MSC’s World Class lineup, which already includes MSC World Europa and MSC World America. Further additions are on the way, with MSC World Asia slated to debut in 2026 and MSC World Atlantic scheduled for delivery in 2027. Together, this quartet of ships will embody MSC’s strategy to offer guests spacious public areas, innovative dining concepts and immersive entertainment aboard vessels designed for maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
Key to the World Class design is the ability to run on alternative fuels, including bio and synthetic liquefied natural gas (LNG). This capability enables MSC to reduce its reliance on traditional marine fuels and to adapt as sustainable fuel availability improves.
