On Saturday, as MSC Seascape docked at the state-of-the-art facility, the new terminal demonstrated its unparalleled capacity to host three ships simultaneously and accommodate up to 36,000 passengers daily. The project has experienced significant delays, with construction breaking ground on March 10, 2022, and an initial opening forecast for December 2023. However, due to various challenges, the terminal has only begun operations in 2025, over a year behind schedule. In addition to schedule setbacks, the project’s cost also rose from early estimates of $350 million to approximately $450 million, according to recent reports from Cruise Hive.
