MSC Seascape has officially arrived at its new homeport in Galveston, marking MSC Cruises’ first-ever sailings from the Texas Gulf Coast. Beginning Sunday, the ship will operate seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries with calls in Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico, and Isla de Roatan, Honduras. The ship will sail year-round from the port’s new, state-of-the-art Cruise Terminal 16.

“Expanding our North American footprint to Galveston and cutting the ribbon on Cruise Terminal 16 are exciting steps forward on our path to making MSC Cruises a household name in North America,” said Lynn Torrent, president of MSC Cruises North America. “Our partnership with the Port of Galveston makes it easy and convenient for millions of new guests to experience the MSC Cruises product.”

To celebrate the ship’s arrival, NBC’s TODAY show has debuted a “Read With Jenna” installation on board, featuring an outdoor reading nook and a Read With Jenna Jr. area for children—bringing a literary twist to the at-sea experience.

MSC Seascape will also introduce new dining and beverage offerings inspired by Southern, Texan and Gulf Coast flavors, expanding on the ship’s five specialty restaurants. Bars and lounges will feature curated regional cocktails and Southern-inspired drinks.

Entertainment on board will include a Texas-themed lineup featuring The Lone Star resident country band, Dueling Pianos, country line-dancing classes and a Big Texas Sailaway party, complementing the ship’s existing full-scale theater productions.

With the opening of Terminal 16, Galveston expects to welcome an additional 3.9 million passenger movements and 445 sailings across its four cruise terminals in 2026, further boosting the region’s growing cruise economy.
