MSC World America Nears Launch

MSC World America is rapidly approaching its official debut as the cruise industry eagerly awaits the arrival of the new vessel. The ship, designed to accommodate 6,762 guests, has successfully completed its sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean and is now entering the final stage of preparation ahead of its official launch in April.
During the rigorous sea trials, the dedicated crew meticulously evaluated the vessel’s performance, focusing on critical aspects such as the 22-deck ship’s engine efficiency, maneuverability, fuel consumption, and safety systems. In addition, the trials measured the ship’s speed and stopping distances, ensuring that every parameter met the high standards expected of a modern cruise ship. These tests are an essential part of the process, as they guarantee that MSC World America is fully equipped to offer a safe and comfortable experience for its future guests.
The vessel is currently undergoing the finishing touches at the prestigious Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France. This state-of-the-art facility has played a key role in the construction of the ship, and now, its expert team is finalizing details before the vessel is delivered to MSC Cruises on March 27. Once handed over, the ship will be officially named during a ceremony at the brand-new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal on April 9, marking a significant milestone for the cruise line.
As the 23rd ship in the MSC Cruises fleet, MSC World America represents a remarkable leap forward in both scale and sustainability. Measuring 1,093 feet in length and 154 feet in width, the ship boasts 2,614 cabins and over 413,334 square feet of public space, ensuring a spacious and luxurious environment for all on board. Guests will have an impressive range of amenities at their disposal, including 18 bars and lounges where they can relax, socialize, and enjoy stunning ocean views.
Dining options on MSC World America are equally impressive, with 19 dining venues that cater to a variety of culinary tastes. Among these is the world’s only Eataly restaurant at sea—a unique onboard experience that promises to deliver authentic Italian flavors and high-quality ingredients in a stylish setting. This innovative dining concept highlights MSC Cruises’ commitment to offering diverse and memorable gastronomic experiences.
One of the standout features of MSC World America is its focus on sustainability. The ship is the third in the MSC fleet to be powered by liquified natural gas (LNG), a cleaner alternative that significantly reduces harmful emissions. Furthermore, the new MSC Cruise Terminal in Miami is equipped with shore power capabilities. With MSC World America outfitted for shore power connectivity, the ship’s engines can be switched off while in port, leading to reduced emissions and improved local air quality.
Additionally, MSC World America is equipped with an advanced wastewater treatment plant and an extensive onboard recycling management system. These eco-friendly features underscore MSC Cruises’ commitment to environmental stewardship while providing guests with a modern, luxurious cruising experience.
With its state-of-the-art design, sustainable innovations, and a host of premium amenities, MSC World America is set to redefine the cruising experience. Its launch in April is eagerly anticipated by travelers seeking both adventure and responsible luxury on the high seas.
