N.C. casino-hotel begins $275M expansion project

Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel in Murphy, N.C., has started construction on a $275 million, two-year expansion project that will feature a 296-room hotel tower with a fitness center and a spa. The casino floor will also be enlarged by 25,000 square feet to accommodate a 10-table World Series of Poker room, 400 slot machines, 12 table games and a 22-seat bar.
