Natural world, local culture meet modern hotel design
Hotel designers are increasingly incorporating the surrounding natural environment along with the local built community to meet guest demand for authentic experience. “The changing environmental climate and need for increased sustainability inspired the farm-to-table, local movement, which quickly expanded beyond food and into architecture and design,” notes Kellie Sirna, whose design firm wove the Sonoran Desert and Old Town Scottsdale’s Entertainment District into the architecture of the new Senna House in Scottsdale, Ariz.
