In early 2024, Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) Norwegian Jewel will enter a three-week drydock, which will equip the ship with a new Thermal Suite in the Mandara Spa and Salon, a larger Vibe Beach Club, 24 new staterooms, and expanded and redesigned Haven Premier Owner’s Suites.

Norwegian Joy will re-enter service on Feb. 13, on an 11-day Transatlantic voyage from Southampton to Miami; and in March, it will inaugurate service on seven-day roundtrip Caribbean itineraries from Miami prior to positioning to Bermuda for summer 2024.

“With this revitalization we are adding some of the most beloved spaces and offerings across our ships to enhance the guest experience aboard Norwegian Joy,” said NCL President David J. Herrera. “Guests will have a greater variety of staterooms to choose from and a world class, full-service spa to spend their days at sea fully immersed in relaxation.”

The new Thermal Suite, which will replace the Galaxy Pavilion, will be the largest of those on Breakaway-Plus class ships, featuring a more centralized layout, a separate lounge area with more hot tile loungers, and new therapies and experiences, NCL said.

“In an effort to continue to offer guests more choice of accommodations, the redesign will include repurposing a portion of the Observation Lounge to create 24 new balcony staterooms, as well as recategorizing 40 new spa balcony staterooms, which will include direct access to the Mandara Spa and the premiering Thermal Suite,” NCL said.

“Additionally, as a result of unprecedented demand, Norwegian Joy’s The Haven by Norwegian Premier Owner’s Suites with a Large Balcony will be expanded to three-bedrooms. The two suites will include three bedrooms; three-and-a-half bathrooms; a fully renovated living rooms master bedroom and outdoor balcony furniture; as well as a new separate dining room overlooking the forward-facing The Haven Horizon Lounge.”

The adults-only Vibe Beach Club will be enlarged and feature new private luxe cabanas. It will replace the Laser Tag arena on Deck 20. The new configuration will be similar to Vibe Beach Clubs aboard Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Bliss, NCL said.
