New Israeli Airline Air Haifa Sets Ambitious Regional Routes Ahead of Planned Launch

Air Haifa, a forthcoming Israeli airline slated to be headquartered at Haifa Airport, has unveiled an ambitious pre-launch plan to serve several key regional destinations, as reported by N12. Scheduled for its debut in 2024, the airline intends to provide cost-effective, nonstop flight options to Cyprus, Greece, and Turkey, in addition to offering domestic services to Eilat, the popular Red Sea resort town.

Founded by former EL AL executives in collaboration with Nir Zuk, the visionary behind Palo Alto Networks, a leading cybersecurity firm, Air Haifa seeks to address the limited choices and elevated fares currently faced by residents of northern Israel.

Air Haifa is set to operate small aircraft, specifically Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 turboprops, well-suited for the airport’s shorter runway at Haifa Airport. The airport is expected to undergo an expansion initiative in the coming years, potentially enabling larger aircraft to access the facility, thereby expanding the airline’s route network in the future.

Air Haifa’s CEO, Matt Ian David, expressed his enthusiasm for this pioneering venture, recognizing the strong demand for leisure travel between Israel and its neighboring nations. He emphasized the airline’s commitment to delivering competitive fares and top-quality service to passengers traveling on these routes.

While Air Haifa charts an ambitious course, it remains to be seen how potential regional instability, including the looming conflict, may impact the airline’s plans. As of now, Air Haifa has not commented on its strategies for addressing potential challenges and risks in a region marked by uncertainty.
