Nigeria’s National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) has reappointed four airlines—Air Peace, MaxAir (Nigeria), UmzaXpress, and Saudi Arabia’s flynas—to handle pilgrim transportation for the 2026 Hajj season. The same carriers successfully managed Hajj operations in 2025.

In addition, two cargo operators, Cargo Zeal Technologies and Koala Investment, will again provide logistics and baggage handling services for Nigerian pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia.

NAHCON said the early re-engagement of the airlines and cargo firms is intended to prevent delays in meeting Saudi Arabia’s strict approval timelines. The commission praised the carriers for their strong performance during the 2025 pilgrimage season, noting that continuity will ensure smoother coordination and improved service delivery.

Before contracts are finalized, the airlines will undergo another round of screening by NAHCON’s 2026 Hajj Aviation Monitoring Committee. The evaluation will cover safety compliance, airworthiness certification, and tax clearance verification to ensure all operators meet regulatory standards.

The commission emphasized that early planning and consistency in airline selection are key to improving the travel experience for Nigerian pilgrims and maintaining efficient Hajj operations in the coming year.
