Nolinor Acquires North Cariboo Air Facility at Edmonton Airport

Nolinor Aviation has acquired a former North Cariboo Air facility at Edmonton International Airport, marking a significant expansion of its western Canadian operations. The facility spans 41,600 square feet and includes a passenger terminal, office space, and a 30,000-square-foot hangar.

Nolinor president Marco Prud’Homme said the acquisition underscores the airline’s long-term commitment to Edmonton, where it opened a base in 2024. The facility will support the addition of a Boeing 737-200 to the fleet and enable the launch of a third heavy maintenance line—its first outside Montréal.

The site features a fully operational Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) with check-in counters, security screening, and cargo handling services. It also includes dedicated office space for mining companies to manage operations directly on-site.

Nolinor plans to upgrade the terminal progressively and is actively pursuing new regional contracts, including another major fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) agreement expected in the coming months.

According to ch-aviation, Nolinor currently operates a fleet of 16 aircraft, including two Boeing 737-200s, six Boeing 737-200Cs, one 737-200(QC), one 737-300(QC), three 737-400s, one 737-800, and two Learjets (45 and 45XR). The expansion at Edmonton supports the airline’s focus on serving remote workforces, particularly in the resource sector.

North Cariboo Air, which previously occupied the complex, operates a smaller fleet including two ARJ100s and two DHC-8-300 series aircraft. The company has not yet commented on the facility’s transfer.
