Norse Atlantic Airways secures its Norwegian AOC
Norse Atlantic Airways (Oslo Gardermoen) secured its Norwegian Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) – NO.AOC.093 – on December 29, 2021, bringing it one step closer to its planned April 2022 launch.
“We would like to thank Norway’s Civil Aviation Authority (Luftfartstilsynet) for a constructive and professional process. We are now one important step closer to launching our attractive and affordable flights between Europe and the US in spring next year,” chief executive and founder Bjørn Tore Larsen said.
The start-up is authorised to engage in scheduled passenger, cargo, and mail air transportation.
Immediately after receiving the Norwegian certificate, the start-up filed a supplemental request to the US Department of Transport requesting expedited processing of its application for a Foreign Air Carrier Permit (FACP). The carrier hopes to complete the paperwork in time for the launch of Oslo Gardermoen-United States operations next year.
Its Norse Atlantic (United Kingdom) subsidiary is simultaneously completing its licencing drive in the United Kingdom for its proposed transatlantic services out of London.
