North American Ski Resorts: Exciting New Additions for the Winter Season

As the snow begins to blanket the slopes, ski resorts across North America are gearing up for a thrilling season with a host of new developments. Skiers and snowboarders can look forward to exploring expanded terrain, upgraded chairlifts, new lodges, and a variety of dining and accommodation options.

Here’s a glimpse into the latest offerings at various ski resorts in the United States and Canada:

Aspen Mountain, Colorado: This iconic ski area is excited to announce a 150-acre terrain expansion, increasing its skiable area by 20%. Named Hero’s, this is Aspen’s first major expansion in over two decades and includes a new high-speed, four-person chairlift. Additionally, Aspen welcomes MOLLIE Aspen, a new 68-room luxury hotel, and the Michelin-starred restaurant Bosq. The Little Nell hotel also debuts a new spa and renovated residences.

Schweitzer, Idaho: Under new ownership by Alterra Mountain Company, Schweitzer is introducing the Creekside Express chairlift and the Cambium Spa in the Selkirk Lodge. A major infrastructure project is also underway, including a new parking lot, lodge, and terrain expansion.

Copper Mountain, Colorado: The resort unveils The Aerie, a 25,000-square-foot mid-mountain lodge featuring a restaurant, coffee shop, food hall, and event space.

Keystone Resort, Colorado: Keystone introduces the Bergman Express, a new lift accessing 555 acres of high alpine terrain, along with a new ski patrol hut and snowmaking infrastructure.

Loon Mountain, New Hampshire: With over 30 acres of new terrain and the Lincoln Express Quad chairlift, Loon Mountain enhances its beginner terrain by more than 50%.

Steamboat Resort, Colorado: Now the second-largest ski resort in Colorado, Steamboat opens 655 acres of expert terrain in Mahogany Ridge and Fish Creek Canyon. The resort also extends the Wild Blue Gondola and opens The Range Food & Drink Hall.

The Highlands, Michigan: Launching a new high-speed, six-person chairlift with heated seats and weatherproof bubbles, The Highlands brings a novel experience to Midwest skiing.

Big Sky Resort, Montana: Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Big Sky introduces an upgraded Lone Peak Tram and boasts improved facilities.

Sugarloaf, Maine: Sugarloaf unveils a 120-acre terrain expansion with 12 new trails and the Bucksaw Express chairlift.

Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia: The resort upgrades the Fitzsimmons Express chairlift and welcomes the exclusive Wedge Mountain Lodge & Spa.

Winter Park Resort, Colorado: Introducing the Wild Spur Express chairlift and the Sundog Tap Room, Winter Park Resort enhances its skier experience significantly.

Park City Mountain Resort, Utah: Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Park City upgrades the Red Pine Gondola with new cabins featuring floor-to-ceiling windows.

Mount St. Louis Moonstone, Ontario: The resort debuts Adventure 8, one of Canada’s first eight-person chairlifts, featuring heated seats.

Big White Ski Resort, British Columbia: Marking its 60th year, Big White opens a new day spa and updates its equipment.

Breckenridge Ski Resort, Colorado: Breckenridge upgrades the 5-Chair to the Five SuperChair and introduces a new learning area, along with hosting the “Breckebeiner” winter triathlon and opening The Carlin, a new restaurant with rooms.
