Northern Pacific Airways Defies Reports, Announces Fall Schedule
United States (US) startup carrier Northern Pacific Airways has announced its fall 2023 schedule, despite recent reports that the carrier would stop selling tickets after August 2023.
“Building on the momentum of a fantastic summer, we are delighted to introduce our exciting fall schedule,” the carrier noted in a statement on August 23, 2023. “Flights on this popular route are available for booking through October 2, 2023, and we can’t wait to take you on this unforgettable journey.”
The airline will now fly three weekly flights between Ontario International Airport (ONT), California, US, and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), connecting the two airports on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays.
Previously, Northern Pacific Airways operated between the two airports on Fridays, returning to ONT on Sundays, before expanding the schedule to include return flights on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
“It’s time to experience the magic of Sin City like never before,” the airline continued in its statement, adding that passengers will be back to ONT before they know it, “leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime”.
Initially conceived as an airline to fly between the US and Asia with a stop in Anchorage, Alaska, the all-Boeing 757 carrier was forced to alter plans following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Since the US and Russia introduced reciprocating restrictions on using the corresponding country’s airspace, Northern Pacific Airways shifted its focus on the route to LAS.
It began operations on July 14, 2023, when its Boeing 757-200, registered as N628NP, left ONT for LAS.
Despite experiencing issues with the return journey, the airline’s second-ever flight, Northern Pacific Airways has continued to fly passengers on the domestic flight ever since.
However, after the return of the airline’s sole active Boeing 757-200’s to ONT on August 14, 2023, it stayed on the ground until August 23, 2023, when it operated a one-hour test flight.
Northern Pacific Airways’ three other Boeing 757s are still inactive, ch-aviation.com data showed.
