Norwegian Cruise Line is set to launch the Norwegian Aqua, the first ship in its expanded Prima Plus Class, and has opened its inaugural itineraries for sale. The ship is scheduled to make its debut in April 2025 and will offer a series of 7-day Caribbean voyages departing from Port Canaveral. These itineraries include stops at captivating destinations like Puerto Plata, Tortola, St. Thomas, and Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line, expressed excitement about the Norwegian Aqua, emphasizing its significance as a milestone for the brand. The ship symbolizes NCL’s forward-thinking vision and commitment to innovative, guest-first experiences. Named to reflect the connection to the sea and the mesmerizing ocean hues, the Norwegian Aqua will introduce new and exhilarating features, marking a new era in cruising.

The Norwegian Aqua, constructed at the Fincantieri shipyards, is designed to be 10% larger than the preceding Prima Class ships. Measuring 1,065 feet in length and weighing 156,300 gross tons, the ship can accommodate over 3,500 guests at double occupancy and boasts the highest staffing levels of any contemporary cruise ship. The ship’s hull will feature artwork by Allisan Hueman, its first major female hull artist, showcasing a modern mythology theme titled “Where the Sky Meets the Sea.”

In terms of accommodations, the Norwegian Aqua will debut the first-ever Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites. There will be four of these luxurious two-story suites, featuring separate living and dining areas, three bathrooms, a spacious balcony, and three bedrooms with two king-sized beds.

The ship will also house the largest Haven complex in NCL’s fleet, which includes 123 suites, an exclusive sundeck, an infinity pool, and an outdoor spa area.

Solo travelers will find expanded options, with solo inside, oceanview, and balcony categories available.

For families, the Norwegian Aqua promises an array of exciting onboard activities. Highlights include the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide, the Aqua Slidecoaster, and the Glow Court, a digital sports complex that transforms into a nightclub in the evening.

This announcement positions the Norwegian Aqua as a game-changer in the cruise industry, offering a blend of luxury, innovation, and family-friendly entertainment. With its groundbreaking features and diverse itinerary options, the Norwegian Aqua is poised to become a standout choice for travelers looking to explore the Caribbean in unparalleled style and comfort.
