Norwegian Revamps Epic and Pride for Summer
Norwegian Cruise Line is gearing up for the summer travel season by renovating two of its most popular ships, Norwegian Epic and Pride of America, to offer guests fresh amenities and elevated experiences at sea. Both vessels will undergo extensive dry-dock work in May, giving travelers even more reasons to book cruises from Europe to the South Pacific and beyond.
Norwegian Epic will complete a three-week dry dock on May 8, emerging with a host of enhancements just in time for her Mediterranean debut. Guests will find a new hot tub on deck 18, perfect for relaxing under the sun, as well as a fully refreshed Kids’ Aqua Park that replaces the former Splashgolf course. Partygoers and sun seekers alike will appreciate the expanded Vibe Beach Club, which takes the place of the Posh Beach Club and offers additional loungers and cabanas overlooking the sea. In response to growing demand, the ship’s crew has also added eight new staterooms, giving families and groups more options for comfortable, ocean-view accommodations. Following its European season, Norwegian Epic will reposition to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she will sail a series of Southern Caribbean voyages visiting popular tropical destinations.
Meanwhile, Pride of America will enter dry dock from May 3 through May 31 to receive its own slate of upgrades. The ship will welcome a new Starbucks location within The Capitol Atrium on deck 5, offering specialty coffees and snacks in a convenient central hub. Sports enthusiasts can look forward to a new pickleball option on the existing sports court, adding to the ship’s lineup of active pursuits. To expand its premium suite offerings, crews will install 12 new Club Balcony Suites and three additional inside staterooms on deck 12. Families will benefit from reconfigured youth facilities, as Splash Academy and the teen-focused Entourage lounge relocate to deck 6, making it easier for parents and children to access these spaces. The popular Shuffles Card Room will be transformed into a combined Library and Card Room, creating a multiuse retreat for readers and players alike. Once renovations are complete, Pride of America will return to Honolulu to resume the line’s signature seven-day inter-island Hawaii voyages, available year-round.
These ship updates reflect Norwegian Cruise Line’s ongoing commitment to enhancing guest choice and comfort. With Norwegian Epic set to explore the Mediterranean and Greek Isles before moving on to Caribbean itineraries, and Pride of America continuing her exclusive Hawaiian loop, passengers can expect a seamless blend of new venue unveilings and favorite onboard traditions.
