Oceanwide Expeditions Launches 2025–2026 Antarctic Voyages

Oceanwide Expeditions has officially launched its 2025–2026 Antarctic cruise season, beginning with the first departure from Puerto Madryn, Argentina. The inaugural voyage explores the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and Antarctica on a dedicated Photographic Special itinerary.
Throughout the season, all three of Oceanwide’s expedition vessels—m/v Hondius, m/v Ortelius, and m/v Plancius—will operate a series of Antarctic journeys departing from South America. These voyages will traverse the sub-Antarctic regions and venture deep into the Antarctic Peninsula and Weddell Sea. The Hondius and Plancius will depart from Ushuaia, Argentina, and Stanley in the Falkland Islands, respectively.
The 2025–2026 season introduces a range of distinctive itineraries alongside returning favorites such as the Falkland Islands–South Georgia–Antarctica route and the popular Antarctica Learning and Discovery expeditions. Highlights include the record-setting Remote Weddell Sea Explorer, departing January 22, 2026, for a 27-night voyage that previously achieved the farthest south point reached by a non-icebreaker passenger vessel.
A one-time Uncharted Islands of the Deep South cruise will navigate the remote Glinka Islands and Lazarev Bay, while the new Deep South Basecamp itinerary offers an activity-driven exploration for adventure seekers.
“We’re thrilled to launch another unforgettable Antarctic season featuring new and returning itineraries that capture the essence of true polar exploration,” said Franklin Braeckman, Antarctic Program Manager at Oceanwide Expeditions. “We look forward to welcoming our guests for an authentic, immersive experience in one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations.”
