Odyssey Expands Fleet with Citation Jet 2+

Odyssey Airways has strengthened its Part 135-certified charter fleet with the addition of its first Citation Jet 2+. The new jet, registered as N476JD with manufacturer serial number 525A-0426, is a 16.4-year-old aircraft configured to accommodate up to eight passengers. Previously operated in the private sector in the United States, this Citation Jet 2+ is now poised to enhance Odyssey Airways’ charter service offerings.
The aircraft performed a test flight around Dothan, its former base, on November 27, 2024. This test was a key step in the transition process before the jet made its final journey to its new home base at Tampa International Airport on December 9, 2024. Since its arrival in Tampa, the aircraft has been fully integrated into Odyssey Airways’ charter fleet and is set to serve a variety of private charter missions across the region.
This addition marks a significant milestone for Odyssey Airways as it continues to modernize and expand its fleet. The new Citation Jet 2+ brings added flexibility and capability to the company’s operations. With its seating configuration for up to eight passengers, the jet is well-suited for business travel, executive charters, and other specialized missions where both comfort and efficiency are key factors.
Before the induction of the Citation Jet 2+, Odyssey Airways’ fleet already included another Citation-series aircraft – a five-seat, 27.6-year-old Citation Jet – which has been serving the company for some time. In addition to these Citation jets, the charter operator’s Part 135 fleet comprises a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, a King Air B200, and a TBM-700. This diverse fleet mix enables Odyssey Airways to offer a range of aircraft types tailored to meet various client needs, from short-haul and regional flights to missions requiring more specialized performance characteristics.
The addition of the Citation Jet 2+ not only expands the company’s fleet size but also reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality charter services. With its proven performance and reliability, the Citation Jet 2+ is expected to deliver a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers. The aircraft’s relatively young age compared to some of the other fleet members ensures that it brings modern avionics, fuel efficiency, and operational flexibility to the table.
For Odyssey Airways, expanding the fleet is part of a broader strategy to remain competitive in the growing charter market. As demand for tailored air charter services continues to increase, the company is focusing on enhancing its fleet capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. The integration of the new Citation Jet 2+ is anticipated to boost operational efficiency and provide customers with more scheduling options and improved connectivity to various destinations.
As the charter market evolves, Odyssey Airways aims to leverage its expanding fleet to capture new opportunities and meet the diverse needs of its clientele. The induction of the Citation Jet 2+ stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation and growth in the competitive world of private air charter services. With this strategic fleet enhancement, Odyssey Airways is well positioned for continued success in the dynamic aviation industry.
