Oman Air to Launch Direct Route from Muscat to Rome
Oman Air has announced a new direct route connecting Muscat to Rome, set to launch on December 20, 2024. This marks the first time passengers will have direct access between the two cities.
The flag carrier of Oman teased the announcement on social media on October 7, 2024, hinting at the new destination. In a post on X, Oman Air wrote: “All roads lead to _! Hint: it’s a destination you’ll love.”
Describing the new route as its “most significant” development in five years, Oman Air stated that this service will provide travelers in Oman with their first-ever direct connection to the Eternal City.
Flights will operate from Muscat to Rome on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The outbound flight departs Muscat at 15:00, arriving in Rome at 19:30, while the return flight leaves Rome at 20:30 and arrives in Muscat at 05:45.
“Our new direct flights to Rome represent an exciting step in our transformation. Marking our second destination in Italy, this key route enhances our European offerings and initiates our strategy to maximize the utilization of our narrow-body fleet,” said Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air.
Korfiatis added, “As one of the most visited cities in the world, Rome is a perfect addition to our network. We are thrilled to offer our guests seamless and convenient access to the destinations they want to visit while continuing to set new standards for service and hospitality.”
