SalamAir (OV, Muscat) has taken delivery of its first A321-200NX after A4O-OXA (msn 10483) was ferried from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Muscat on September 9, 2021, and began commercial operations the day after.

It is currently deployed mainly on the domestic route to Salalah, as well as on a limited number of regional international services to Trabzon, Dhaka, and Istanbul New, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. As part of a two-aircraft lease commitment with GECAS, the aircraft seats up to 212 passengers, including four in business class and 208 in economy.

“The employment of this aircraft to our fleet with its additional range and extra 32 seats to our existing A320neo will support the growth plans of our airline’s network,” Chief Executive Mohamed Ahmed said.

The privately-owned low-cost carrier also operates six A320-200Ns, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows. It returned all three of its leased A320-200s in 2020, even though the lease terms were originally scheduled to expire in 2023.
