Omega Sues Presidential Aviation Over Jet Maintenance Failures

Omega Aviation has filed a lawsuit against Presidential Aviation in Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court, alleging negligence and breach of contract related to the maintenance of its sole aircraft, a Learjet 45XR. The suit, filed on March 14, 2025, claims serious maintenance oversights led to safety issues and operational disruptions.

Omega, based in the Isle of Man, purchased the aircraft in late 2022 and hired Presidential Aviation for a pre-purchase inspection and ongoing maintenance. According to the complaint, the inspection was flawed, missing critical issues including fuel line leaks, corrosion, and control surface damage. Omega alleges it would not have bought the jet if these defects had been disclosed.

The lawsuit highlights a Phase D inspection in early 2024, where subcontracted repairs allegedly failed to resolve major problems. It also accuses Presidential of misreporting inspection due dates, causing the aircraft to operate beyond regulatory limits and in a non-airworthy condition. One such error allegedly resulted in the aircraft flying uninsured.

A runway incident in July 2024 further escalated concerns when a tire ruptured due to faulty landing gear assembly. Post-incident inspections revealed multiple serious flaws, prompting Omega to end its relationship with Presidential and hire a new maintenance provider.

The complaint also accuses Presidential of poor record keeping and failing to schedule required services, which Omega says led to reduced aircraft value and safety risks. Presidential Aviation denies the claims and maintains its commitment to safety. The case is scheduled for its next hearing on June 9, 2025.
