OneWorld has appointed seasoned aviation executive Ole Orver as its new Chief Executive Officer. Orvér will officially join the alliance on April 1, 2026.

A Swedish national with more than 20 years of airline industry experience, Orvér most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair, a oneworld member airline. During his tenure, he led a transformation of Finnair’s commercial and network strategy, introducing significant revenue optimization and loyalty program enhancements.

Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines and current Chairman of oneworld’s Governing Board, welcomed the appointment, citing Orvér’s track record in commercial performance, airline partnerships and international leadership. Isom said Orvér would help advance customer-focused initiatives designed to strengthen oneworld’s position as a premium global alliance.

Before joining Finnair, Orvér served as Senior Vice President of Network Management at Qatar Airways, another oneworld member. His previous leadership roles include positions at Air Berlin, LOT Polish Airlines and SAS Scandinavian Airlines. He holds a degree in Economics from Mid Sweden University and completed executive certification at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Orvér said he is honored to join oneworld at what he described as a pivotal moment for global travel, emphasizing collaboration among member airlines to enhance the customer journey and leverage new technology tools.

He succeeds Nathaniel Pieper, who recently transitioned to the role of Chief Commercial Officer at American Airlines. Orvér will report directly to oneworld’s Governing Board of member airline CEOs and will oversee efforts to deepen integration among alliance partners while delivering expanded benefits to travelers worldwide.
