Orlando Airports Suspend Operations Ahead of Hurricane Milton

Share

On the morning of Wednesday, October 9, Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) will suspend all commercial passenger and private operations in preparation for Hurricane Milton. This decision has been made in coordination with our partners to ensure the safety of travelers and airport staff.

Please note, the airport itself will remain open to accommodate emergency, aid, and relief flights as needed. Commercial operations will resume as soon as possible following a damage assessment.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), which oversees both MCO and ORL, emphasizes the importance of safety. Passengers should check directly with their airlines for the latest flight information.

Additionally, GOAA wants to inform the public that MCO is not an authorized shelter and cannot accommodate local residents during severe weather. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as necessary.
