The FAA has committed over $374 million in grants to more than 300 airports across the U.S. under the latest round of the Airport Improvement Program (AIP). This funding will support a range of projects, from constructing and upgrading airport facilities to repairing runways, maintaining airfield lighting, and purchasing essential equipment.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg highlighted that these investments will enable hundreds of airports to undertake critical improvements, enhancing the safety, resilience, and efficiency of the U.S. aviation infrastructure.

Significant allocations include $15.5 million for Boston Logan International Airport to rehabilitate Taxiway N, and $4.6 million for reconstructing the Central Terminal building at Miami International Airport. Stillwater Regional Airport in Oklahoma will receive $7.2 million for a new terminal, Denver International Airport will get $6.3 million for taxiway rehabilitation, and Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport in Alabama will be granted $6.9 million for taxiway reconstruction.

Other notable grants include $10 million for Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, $7.8 million for Portland International Airport, and $4.4 million for Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.

In total, 311 airports in 46 states and American Samoa will benefit from this round of AIP funding. The program annually allocates approximately $3.3 billion to support airport infrastructure improvements.
