Former Volocopter chief test pilot Paul Stone has taken a major step in his career by joining Vertical Aerospace, a move that further strengthens the company’s position among the world’s elite eVTOL developers. Announced on March 13, 2025, this appointment marks a significant boost for Vertical Aerospace as it continues to expand its piloted flight test program. Stone, who amassed over 4,800 flight hours across more than 200 different aircraft types during his time at Volocopter, played a pivotal role in the development and demonstration of both the concept and full-scale Volocity prototypes. His extensive experience in advanced rotorcraft testing makes his transition to Vertical Aerospace a critical asset for the company as it seeks to certify and commercialize its VX4 prototype.
