Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced the launch of its new nonstop flight route connecting Manila-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) to Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). This strategic expansion aims to strengthen air links between the Philippines and China, fostering increased tourism, enhanced trade, and deeper cultural ties between the two nations.
The new service will commence on March 30, 2025, with thrice-weekly flights operating every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. PAL will deploy its Airbus A321 aircraft on this route, offering a seating capacity ranging from 168 to 199 passengers. The flights will feature a two-class configuration, providing both business and economy class options to cater to a diverse range of travelers.
“We are honored to serve the capital city of the People’s Republic of China, the diplomatic heart of the world’s second-largest economy, as our contribution to strengthening air links to the Chinese mainland,” said Captain Stanley K. Ng, President and Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Airlines. “We believe that the Manila-Beijing service will help boost tourism, enhance trade, and deepen the friendly ties between the Filipino and Chinese people.”
The flight schedules are as follows:
PR 358: Departs Manila at 06:55 local time, arriving in Beijing at 11:55 local time every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
PR 359: Departs Beijing at 12:55 local time, arriving in Manila at 18:05 local time every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
This new route complements PAL’s existing international services from Manila, which include daily flights to Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport (JJN), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), and Xiamen Gaoqi Airport (XMN). By adding Beijing to its network, PAL is positioning itself to better serve the growing demand for direct flights between the Philippines and China.
The introduction of nonstop flights to Beijing is expected to significantly impact both tourism and business travel. Beijing, as the capital of China, is a major hub for international business and diplomacy, making it a crucial destination for Filipino professionals and tourists alike. The increased connectivity will facilitate smoother travel for business executives, government officials, and tourists, promoting economic growth and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Furthermore, PAL’s commitment to enhancing its fleet with the Airbus A321 underscores the airline’s dedication to providing a comfortable and efficient travel experience. The A321 is renowned for its reliability and fuel efficiency, making it an ideal choice for medium-haul international routes. Passengers can expect a high level of service, with amenities designed to ensure a pleasant journey.
Philippine Airlines has long been recognized for its extensive network and commitment to customer satisfaction. By expanding its services to include Beijing, PAL is reinforcing its position as a leading carrier in the Asia-Pacific region. This move not only broadens PAL’s market reach but also aligns with the airline’s strategic goals of expanding its international footprint and enhancing its service offerings.
As PAL prepares to launch this new route, the airline is also focused on ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service. Travelers can look forward to a streamlined booking process, efficient check-in procedures, and a comfortable in-flight experience. PAL’s dedication to excellence is evident in every aspect of its service, from flight scheduling to onboard amenities.
Philippine Airlines’ launch of nonstop flights between Manila and Beijing marks a significant milestone in the airline’s expansion strategy. By providing direct connectivity to China’s capital, PAL is set to enhance bilateral relations, support economic growth, and offer Filipino and Chinese travelers a convenient and affordable travel option. As the aviation landscape continues to evolve, PAL remains committed to meeting the needs of its passengers and strengthening its role as a key player in the global airline industry.
