Philippine Airlines Resumes Manila–Sapporo Winter Flights

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to resume its seasonal nonstop flights between Manila and Sapporo after a five-year pause. The service will run from November 24, 2025, to March 27, 2026, catering to winter travelers heading to Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido.
Flights will operate three times weekly—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—using PAL’s Airbus A321neo aircraft. The 168-seat aircraft includes 12 business class seats and 156 in economy, offering passengers a comfortable journey to one of Japan’s most popular winter destinations.
Sapporo is renowned for its top-tier ski resorts, rich culinary scene, and the iconic Sapporo Snow Festival, which draws international tourists with its massive snow and ice sculptures. The route reopening is expected to support increased tourism and strengthen cultural ties between the Philippines and Japan.
“We are thrilled to announce the reopening of our direct flights from Manila to Sapporo,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall. “This route not only provides a convenient travel option for Filipino tourists and overseas workers, but also opens doors for Japanese travelers to explore and experience the Philippines’ vibrant culture and warm hospitality.”
PAL currently maintains the largest air network between the Philippines and Japan, offering direct flights from Manila to Tokyo Narita, Tokyo Haneda, Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. The airline also connects Cebu to Tokyo Narita and Osaka Kansai, reinforcing its strong presence in the Japan–Philippines travel corridor.
