AMC Aviation, based in Warsaw, is strategically expanding its charter services to Western Europe by incorporating small jets into its fleet. This move comes as a response to the shifting market demands following the closure of airspace over Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus, as well as to cater to the short-haul travel preferences prevalent in Western Europe.

In an interview at EBACE in Geneva, AMC Aviation’s CEO, Andrzej Kisiel, shared insights into the company’s adaptation to the changing geopolitical landscape caused by the war in Ukraine. This situation prompted AMC to seek new markets in Western Europe and Africa, where there is a notable preference for smaller aircraft for short-duration flights.

AMC Aviation has responded by adding very light and light jets to its fleet, including models like the E500 Phenom 100, HondaJet HA-420, and PC-24s, with plans to introduce a third PC-24 by early July 2024. These aircraft are favored for their performance characteristics, such as superior baggage capacity and low cabin noise—features that align well with the expectations of Western European customers.

Despite the introduction of smaller jets, Kisiel noted that there remains a steady demand for midsize and super-midsize jets, particularly during the busier summer months, while smaller aircraft are more in demand during the winter. To complement its expanded service offerings, AMC Aviation is also exploring charter opportunities in the Middle East, where demand for larger aircraft surpasses that in Western Europe.

Located at Warsaw’s Modlin Airport, AMC Aviation boasts extensive maintenance capabilities with a 3,800-square-meter hangar. This in-house Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capacity not only supports the fleet’s operational needs but also serves as a standalone business division, catering to third-party maintenance demands.

Further underlining its commitment to the Polish market, Kisiel emphasized the advantages of operating under the Polish SP-register, citing longstanding positive relations with local authorities and the logistical benefits of proximity to regulatory bodies.

AMC Aviation’s strategic pivot to incorporate smaller jets caters effectively to the evolving market dynamics in Western Europe, positioning the company to meet diverse client needs while continuing to explore new growth avenues in international markets.
