Ponant Yachting Debuts with New Catamaran Fleet

PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP has announced the launch of PONANT YACHTING, a new luxury yachting brand that expands on the tailor-made catamaran journeys it introduced in 2024. The move underscores Ponant’s push into intimate, high-end sailing experiences designed for small groups and private charters.
Each all-inclusive sailing will feature a dedicated four-person crew—a captain, first mate, chef and hostess—along with exclusive itineraries, bespoke menus, premium wines and cocktails, and a wide range of water activities such as snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding, water skiing, wing foiling, Tiwal sailing dinghies and Sublue diving.
By late 2026, Ponant Yachting will operate three catamarans: Spirit of Ponant, La Désirade and the new Spirit of Ponant II, each accommodating between nine and 12 guests. The Spirit of Ponant II is currently under construction in France by Lagoon and will be based in French Polynesia, bringing Ponant’s fleet total to 22 ships.
The new 82-foot-long, 36-foot-wide vessel will feature five double staterooms for up to 10 guests and will be available exclusively for full private charters, with rates starting at $74,930.
“We are expanding our offering in the luxury sailing segment for intimate, sophisticated and responsible voyages,” said Hervé Gastinel, CEO of Ponant Explorations Group. “We are developing a unique world where every detail— from itineraries to gastronomy—can be tailor-made, reinforcing our distinctive position in the cruise industry.”
The new brand aims to attract travelers seeking personalized, small-scale experiences that blend luxury, adventure and sustainability.
