Florida’s Port Canaveral, one of the busiest ports in the world, has resumed operations following a two-day closure due to Hurricane Milton. Commerce is flowing again, encompassing both leisure trips and cargo traffic as the port returns to normalcy.

The U.S. Coast Guard conducted a thorough inspection of the port to assess debris before granting approval for reopening. The first cruise ship to navigate back into the channel was the MSC Seashore, marking a significant step towards restoring regular cruise operations.

On Saturday, six additional cruise ships were scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral, including:

  • Carnival Freedom
  • Carnival Glory (originally scheduled for Friday)
  • Mardi Gras
  • Disney Fantasy
  • Adventure of the Seas
  • Utopia of the Seas

Furthermore, four ships are set to depart from the port on Sunday, featuring:

  • Carnival Vista
  • Disney Wish
  • MSC Seashore
  • Wonder of the Seas

Cruise passengers are advised to check with their respective cruise lines for any updates on schedules and itineraries as the port continues to adapt to post-hurricane conditions.

In addition to the reopening of Port Canaveral, the nearby Melbourne Airport has also resumed operations, further facilitating travel and commerce in the region.

Excitingly, Royal Caribbean recently floated out its new ship, which is scheduled to debut at Port Canaveral next year, indicating a strong rebound for the cruise industry in the area.
