Porter Airlines celebrated the flight of its first two Embraer E195-E2 aircraft between Toronto Pearson International Airport, and Ottawa International Airport and Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.

The introduction of the E195-E2s on these routes, also served by the airline’s Dash 8-400s operations at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, means that passengers now have greater choice when travelling to the greater Toronto area.

Additional flights will also be made throughout the rest of February, starting with Vancouver (Feb 7), Edmonton (Feb 14), Calgary (Feb 22) and Halifax (Feb 23).

The debuting E195-E2s will feature a 132-seat, all-economy, two-by-two configuration, and free, fast WiFi for every passenger.

“A tremendous amount of innovation and dedication was invested to get us to this point and today our team members get to see the results of their efforts,” said Michael Deluce, president and CEO, Porter Airlines.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of Porter’s exciting growth as they incorporate passenger-friendly and efficient Embraer E195-E2 jets into their network. We welcome four times daily service to Toronto Pearson and additional non-stop destinations as the fleet expands,” added Mark Laroche, president and CEO, Ottawa International Airport Authority.
