In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Fundación Posadas, the hospitality group is reaffirming its mission to make the world a better place to travel by launching initiatives that generate social value and drive community development across Mexico. Through its innovative programs, Posadas continues to merge tourism growth with meaningful social impact.

One of its most transformative projects is Capacitación Comunitaria (Community Training), an initiative that leverages more than five decades of Posadas’ expertise in the tourism and hospitality industry. The program focuses on empowering young people—especially women from vulnerable communities—by equipping them with the skills needed for tourism-related careers. By offering practical training and mentorship, the initiative helps participants gain independence, confidence, and access to new job opportunities in the hospitality sector.

Launched in 2024 with just six participants, the project has expanded significantly in its second year. A total of 96 women have now completed the program across 17 hotels under the Grand Fiesta Americana, Live Aqua, Fiesta Americana, and Fiesta Inn brands, located in Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Oaxaca, and Yucatán. Each participant received hands-on culinary training guided by professional chefs and kitchen teams, helping them build both technical and soft skills essential for success in the workforce.

The results have been exceptional. Satisfaction surveys from both mentors and trainees reported a 96% approval rating, underscoring the program’s effectiveness and the dedication of everyone involved.

“At Fundación Posadas, we firmly believe that tourism is a powerful catalyst for social transformation,” said Miriam Jacamán, Director of Fundación Posadas. “Through Capacitación Comunitaria, we aim to create tangible opportunities for young people who may otherwise face barriers to employment. Our goal is to keep expanding these programs, reaching more communities, and opening doors to a brighter, more inclusive future.”

The success of Capacitación Comunitaria reflects Posadas’ long-standing commitment to social responsibility, inclusion, and sustainable development. By investing in people and education, Posadas not only strengthens Mexico’s tourism industry but also builds stronger, more resilient communities.

Through Fundación Posadas, the company continues to demonstrate that hospitality extends beyond service—it is a force for empowerment, equality, and lasting progress in the communities it touches.
