Princess Cruises Revamps Dining Options to Offer Enhanced Flexibility
Princess Cruises is redefining onboard dining experiences by revising the dining structure across its entire fleet to provide guests with enhanced flexibility and choice. The cruise line now offers three distinct table service options: Traditional, Reservable, and Walk-in Anytime dining, along with the traditional room service for anytime meals.
Each ship within the fleet will feature separate dining rooms designated for each service type. One room will cater to traditional dining with fixed early and late seating each evening, another will accommodate guests who prefer to reserve dining times in advance, and a third will support walk-in guests at any time, promoting spontaneity and convenience.
This revamped dining approach was first introduced on the new Sun Princess, which features a three-story dining room where each level is dedicated to one of the three dining options. The success observed on the Sun Princess prompted the extension of this flexible dining model to all ships in the Princess fleet.
Sami Kohen, Vice President of Food and Beverage at Princess Cruises, expressed enthusiasm about the upgrade: “Our guests have been delighted with the dining flexibility aboard Sun Princess, and we’re pleased to extend the concept to all the other ships in our fleet. Whether guests prefer an early seating every evening, want to change things up every night, or even change their mind last minute, these flexible dining options ensure that their dining preference is effortlessly accommodated.”
The new dining format will be officially available on all Princess voyages departing from September 14. To facilitate this transition, existing main dining reservations for voyages sailing on or after September 14 (excluding those on the Sun Princess) will be canceled, though reservations for trips through September 13 will remain unaffected.
Starting June 17, guests booked on upcoming voyages can use the Princess Cruises app to select their preferred dining style—either traditional seating in a dedicated dining room with consistent service staff and timing each night or flexible dining that allows for varying dinner times and table sizes in either the Reservable or Open Seating dining rooms. This change will not impact guests with reservations in specialty dining restaurants, suites, or reserve collection accommodations.
Additionally, on the Coral Princess and Island Princess, Reservable and Walk-in Anytime Dining options will be merged into a single Main Dining Room location, streamlining the process and enhancing the dining experience for guests.
With these changes, Princess Cruises continues to innovate and adapt to the evolving preferences of modern travelers, ensuring a memorable and flexible dining experience at sea.
