Princess Cruises has officially taken delivery of the new Star Princess from Fincantieri during a ceremony at the shipbuilder’s Monfalcone yard in Italy. The 177,800-ton vessel can accommodate 4,300 guests and becomes the second Sphere-class ship in the fleet, following the Sun Princess. It is also the 17th ship to join the cruise line’s growing portfolio.

The Star Princess is set to launch service on October 4, 2025, with a Mediterranean season sailing roundtrip from Barcelona. Afterward, the ship will cross the Atlantic to begin Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale starting November 7, 2025. In 2026, the vessel will move westward, transiting the Panama Canal before embarking on its inaugural Alaska season.

Designed to elevate the guest experience, the Star Princess offers 1,500 balcony staterooms and 30 dining and bar venues. The ship introduces The Sanctuary Collection, a premium retreat featuring a private restaurant, Sanctuary Club access, an adults-only pool deck, and curated amenities. Entertainment highlights include The Dome, a state-of-the-art glass-enclosed space, the Arena theater, and Spellbound by Magic Castle, an immersive speakeasy created in partnership with the iconic Hollywood venue.

Princess Cruises President Gus Antorcha described the delivery as a milestone that reflects both innovation and tradition, thanking Fincantieri for its craftsmanship. With its modern design, upscale features, and diverse itineraries, the Star Princess is expected to set new standards for luxury cruising across Europe, the Caribbean, and Alaska in the coming years.
