Dassault Aviation has announced that its new business jet, the Falcon 6X, has received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The certification marks the completion of a two-year flight test campaign that involved three prototype aircraft and more than 1,400 flight hours .

The Falcon 6X is a large-cabin, long-range jet that can carry up to 16 passengers and fly up to 5,500 nautical miles at a speed of Mach 0.90. It features a spacious cabin with a height of 6 feet 6 inches and a width of 8 feet 6 inches, making it the widest and tallest in its class. It also offers advanced digital flight controls, a next-generation cockpit, and a high-performance wing design.

The Falcon 6X is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW812D engines, each delivering 13,000 to 14,000 pounds of thrust. The engines are based on the core technology of the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine family, which has proven its reliability and efficiency in more than 10 million flight hours. The engines also incorporate the latest technologies to reduce fuel consumption, noise, and emissions.

The Falcon 6X is expected to enter service in early 2022, with more than 40 aircraft already in production at Dassault’s facilities in France. The aircraft has a list price of $47 million and has attracted strong interest from customers around the world. Dassault claims that the Falcon 6X will set a new standard for comfort, performance, and safety in the business jet market.
