Progress, with perils, shown by hotel stocks
The stock market status of US lodging, particularly of the real estate investment trusts that own many hotels and resorts, is on the upswing but still clouded by factors such as the coronavirus and lagging business travel. A key metric for Hotel REITs, cumulative funds from operations, turned positive in the second quarter for the first time since early 2020, according to the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.
