Australian carrier Qantas has announced that it is to expand its codeshare partnership with low-cost Indian carrier IndiGo, offering passengers more connectivity options between Australia and India.

Qantas and IndiGo’s codeshare agreement began in August 2022 and with this latest expansion customers will now be able to travel to an additional eight cities. This brings the total number of Indian destinations available for connections from Delhi and Bengaluru to 21.

New Indian cities under the expanded codeshare include:

Guwahati
Indore
Chandigarh
Mangalore
Jaipur
Nagpur
Thiruvananthapuram
Visakhapatnam
Qantas customers will also have additional options across IndiGo’s domestic network with over 250 new flights available for booking.

“Our codeshare partnership with IndiGo has improved the way our customers travel between Australia and India, and the additional destinations give travelers even more options,” Qantas chief customer officer Markus Svensson said in a statement.

Svensson added: “The new codeshare flights will allow our customers to enjoy more connections across India from our Delhi and Bengaluru gateways and have their luggage checked straight through to their final destination.”

Qantas currently operates four return flights from Melbourne to Delhi and four return flights from Sydney to Bengaluru per week.
