Qantas is gearing up to resume its Sydney to New York flights starting from June 2023, with a stopover in Auckland, New Zealand. This highly-anticipated service, which had been paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will operate three times a week under the flight numbers QF3 and QF4, utilizing a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

To celebrate the relaunch, Qantas has curated a range of delightful offerings for passengers traveling on this long-haul route, which includes a 17-hour leg between Auckland and New York. Renowned designer Rebecca Vallance has collaborated with Qantas to create a special design featuring the iconic Qantas “Roo” logo combined with a heart, symbolizing New York City. This design will adorn the exclusive pyjamas and amenity kits provided to business class passengers. Limited quantities of these sought-after pyjamas were made available for purchase on the Qantas website, but they quickly sold out.

Passengers on this route can also look forward to an exceptional culinary experience. Qantas introduced new culinary options in March 2023, and now, for the relaunch of the Sydney to New York flights, a special menu will showcase the diverse culinary culture of New York. The menu will feature mouthwatering dishes such as New York-style spaghetti and meatballs, the classic Reuben sandwich, bagels with lox and cream cheese, General Tso’s chicken, a traditional beef hot dog with sauerkraut, and New York-style baked cheesecake with blueberry compote, among other delectable specialties. Additionally, Qantas business class lounges in Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland will offer a daily New York-inspired dish.

On May 30, 2023, Qantas provided further insights into its strategic plans and upcoming offerings across its network. Excitement is building as the airline prepares to reintroduce this iconic route, bringing the joy of travel and a taste of New York to its passengers once again.
