Qantas Airways has unveiled two new holiday-themed aircraft liveries to celebrate the festive season, delighting passengers traveling in December 2024. The Australian flag carrier introduced a QantasLink Q400 Dash-8, affectionately named “Dasher-8,” and a Boeing 737 dubbed “Roo-dolph.” These specially decorated planes are set to spread holiday cheer across the skies, offering a unique and joyful experience for travelers.

Customers flying on these festive aircraft throughout December will earn double Qantas Frequent Flyer points, adding extra value to their holiday journeys. Additionally, a Qantas Freight A321, adorned with a “Santa’s Freight” livery, is scheduled to transport thousands of presents and festive goods across Australia in the coming weeks, ensuring timely delivery of holiday essentials.

Inside the cabin, passengers can expect an array of seasonal treats and experiences. Qantas is rolling out new international first and business class inflight menus, featuring holiday-inspired dishes. A new first-class lounge menu and a refreshed selection of beers will also be available across the network, enhancing the festive atmosphere for travelers.

Catriona Larritt, Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer, expressed excitement about the holiday initiatives: “We know our customers, especially the youngest ones, love flying on our special festive aircraft, and so we are delighted they are making a return in 2024. Our teams have been working hard over several months to prepare our operations to be ready to help millions of customers see their family and friends throughout the holiday season.”

In the days leading up to Christmas, selected domestic and international lounges will serve traditional festive food and drinks, complete with all the trimmings. Passengers can indulge in a Qantas signature Christmas cocktail, specially crafted to capture the spirit of the season.

The introduction of “Dasher-8” and “Roo-dolph” is part of Qantas’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience during peak travel times. By combining festive decorations, special offers, and seasonal menus, the airline aims to make holiday travel more enjoyable and memorable for its passengers.

The festive aircraft are easily recognizable, featuring eye-catching designs that embody the holiday spirit. “Dasher-8” plays on the name of one of Santa’s reindeer, while “Roo-dolph” cleverly merges the iconic Australian kangaroo with Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer. These creative touches highlight Qantas’s dedication to blending Australian culture with global holiday traditions.

Travelers are encouraged to book flights on these special aircraft to take advantage of the double points offer and enjoy the festive onboard experience. With enhanced inflight services and lounge amenities, Qantas is set to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all passengers during the holiday season.

As the airline prepares to transport thousands of passengers across Australia and beyond, these festive initiatives underscore Qantas’s role in connecting people during this special time of year. Whether passengers are visiting loved ones or embarking on holiday adventures, Qantas aims to make their journey as pleasant and festive as possible.
