Qatar Airways Unveils Next-Gen Qsuite: A Preview
Qatar Airways is poised to set a new benchmark in business-class travel with its upcoming Qsuite Next Gen, an advanced iteration of its acclaimed Qsuite. Originally introduced in 2017, the Qsuite has been celebrated for its opulent design, featuring sliding doors for privacy, transformable double beds, and high-end dining options. The Qsuite Next Gen promises to enhance this experience further, with a range of exciting new features set to debut on Boeing 777-9 aircraft by the end of 2025.
The Qsuite Next Gen will build on the existing one-two-one seating configuration, offering more social and versatile spaces. A notable addition is the Quad Suite, located in the middle of the cabin, which allows families or groups of up to four to combine their seats into a larger communal area by retracting the privacy panels. This space will include high-definition 4K OLED screens that can be moved aside to open up the area, and seats in the same row can be converted into a lie-flat double bed. For those traveling together, the new Companion Suite feature enables passengers seated along the windows to remove partitions and enjoy face-to-face interaction.
Comfort is further enhanced with increased seat dimensions. The Qsuite Next Gen seats will be one and a half inches wider when upright and four inches wider in lie-flat mode compared to the current model. The doors will be two inches higher and motorized for improved privacy and convenience.
Addressing previous feedback, the Qsuite Next Gen will offer expanded storage options. Passengers will have access to two additional drawers, one with a digital lock, as well as a nook for small bags, a cubby for shoes, and a compartment for water bottles. Customization options are also improved, with passengers able to adjust ambient lighting and seat settings through two touchscreen control panels. Modern amenities include USB-C high-speed charging outlets, a wireless charging pad, and Starlink Wi-Fi throughout the cabin.
Although Qatar Airways does not plan to retrofit its existing Airbus A350 or Boeing 777 jets with the new Qsuite, the airline is also introducing new food and beverage concepts across its business class. These will include shared dishes and an “express breakfast” service for those who wish to maximize their rest. In addition, passengers will enjoy new business-class pajamas designed by The White Company and amenity kits from BRIC’S, featuring luxury items from Italy’s Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio.
Qatar Airways’ commitment to excellence was recently recognized at the Skytrax 2024 World Airline Awards, where the airline won accolades for World’s Best Airline, Best Business Class, Best Business Class Lounge, and Best Airline in the Middle East. With the Qsuite Next Gen, Qatar Airways is set to continue its tradition of providing a top-tier travel experience, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in business-class luxury.
